Jesus cursed the fig tree.Christians say curses are evil, so wouldn't that make jesus evil?

Another thing, if jesus was god and god is all knowing, wouldn't he have known that the fig tree had no fruit? Why didn't he make fruit grow instead of murdering the tree?

Jesus cursed the fig tree.Christians say curses are evil, so wouldn't that make jesus evil?
because jesus wasn't god's son, because there is no Christian god. the answer is simple. Jesus was an Alchemist so he could do things others couldn't. so Christianity is just some dumb lie. so he wouldn't know anything that god knew if he was considered to be all knowing, because there is no god.
Reply:It was symbollic and a teaching for us. The fig tree is Israel.

Christ knew it wasn't the season for figs. The tree (Israel) was not producing fruit.
Reply:Failing to bless something doesn't constitute a curse.
Reply:Curses are evil only when WE try to do them -- because in trying to do it, we are trying to play God.

Jesus doesn't have to play God, though, because He is God.

As for the rest of your question, He didn't make the tree grow fruit because He was teaching us a lesson.

Specifically, He was teaching us that we must "yield good frut" in order to be good Christians -- if we don't, our faith is dead, just as the fig tree died because it didn't yield good fruit. We cannot sit back and wait for God to do everything.

He gave us bodies and brains and intellect and the ability to do good -- and He expects us to use these things.

Reply:You're right. I'm giving it all up for a life of agnosticism. Thanks for this enlightenment.
Reply:can tell a lot of people om here are looking for some kind of spirituality, so many questions on christianity, so many why this why that......
Reply:It does seem a little strange. I think that's the only time we see Jesus using his power to destroy something. The fig tree seems to be an innocent victim here. The bible said it wasn't time for figs. So...what was it all about?

But I think making the leap to declaring Jesus evil for knocking off a tree is taking the Green Peace thing too far.

If it was symbolic of an "unproductive nation" then it would make a little more sense. The Jews have certainly had a rough go of it the last 2000 years, with not much help from Christians...let's hope the bad times are behind us.
Reply:A curse is not an evil thing if it is applied in the right way. The bibles say a curse costless cannot come, you can't be cursed if you didn't do anything wrong to deserve it. A placing a curse on something is different from cursing.

For you information Jesus was a man on earth, not a God that came to earth and lived like a god, so he was not all knowing like you put it at the time.
Reply:he needs to show people his wrath so they fear him.
Reply:Almost all of what Jesus said and did was a metaphor. He spoke in terms easily applied to our lives spiritually and the world's declination of faith.

Christians tend to fear everything is evil. Can't see that movie it's of Satan, can't play monopoly it has evil dice, can't have a beer it's evil, can't dress my 5 year old up as a princess on Halloween it's a day of Satan worship..

I find it funny that a people whose God is all powerful and omnipotent fear life and all it's facets. LOL

Reply:God is Love, Love is blind does that mean God is blind? some logic for ya. and have you done much better than Jesus? We'd like to hear it
Reply:get a grip!!
Reply:he tought Christians to curse people that act offensive

You will burn, you will burn
Reply:What has jesus got against the fig tree if he cursed it what did it do to him figs are nice fruit
Reply:No, because the bible says that God will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you. The fig cursed God. So god cursed it. Do you get what I'm saying?
Reply:You know how we get when we've gone without food -- mean and evil. People forget Jesus was also human. Too funny.
Reply:wow good and funny question. im a christain but i really dont care so yeah... bye.
